City University of Seattle in Canada is looking for a qualified Associate Program Director/ Internship Coordinator to join its outstanding team of faculty and staff in the School of Education and Leadership, Calgary Campus. The ideal candidates are qualified professionals with knowledge and experience in post-secondary education and leadership, especially in community engagement and internship placements.


Job Summary:




The Associate Program Director assists the Academic Program Director in ensuring the quality and integrity of the MEd in Leadership program at the Calgary Campus. Coordinates internship process, provides proactive student support, develops teaching faculty, participates in curriculum and course development, teaches core courses, and actively engages in academic governance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:




Coordinates internship processes, including practicum courses and internship placements. Provides liaison between site supervisors, students, and the university. Provides proactive student support toward successful internship completion. Addresses student concerns regarding internship placements and performance issues. Teaches two courses per year within compensation. Fosters and promotes teaching excellence. Provides orientation, training, mentoring, coaching, and evaluation for practitioner faculty. Proactively supports students to become responsible, ethical, self-directed professionals. Engages in the scholarship of teaching and learning, as well as applied or original research. Participates in developing a curriculum that aligns with the CityU Academic Model and focuses on the application and current practice.

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution in education, leadership or related fields. Individuals currently enrolled and progressing through a doctoral degree are welcome to apply. Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in teaching, preferably in both in-class and online modes of educational delivery. Experience in higher education management and leadership. Ability to address student academic-related issues and concerns in support of retention and student success. Demonstrated experience leading and managing in a creative and fast-paced environment. Ability to manage virtual teams. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to relate to and communicate with diverse students, faculty, staff, and external communities. Ability to present a professional image for the School and CityU. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and learning management systems in support of quality teaching and learning.

Salary information:




CAD 85,000 - 95,000/year
