The Faculty of Education invites applications, from qualified individuals, for a tenure-track or tenured position in Leadership and Education at the Associate Professor level. This position is subject to budgetary approval and would start on July 1, 2023.

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct active and innovative research programs and teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ontario Tech is a technology-enhanced learning environment, and the candidate shall be expected to have skills in the integration of technology into teaching and model those skills in their own teaching in the University\'s web-centric and mobile learning environment. Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in Leadership and Education, or a related discipline, a strong academic background, supervision experience at the graduate level, and an established record of excellence in innovative and scholarly research leading to peer-assessed publications. Specific areas of need include foundations of leadership, change leadership, leadership policy, leadership and technology, and leadership in EDI. Candidates should have supervision experience at the graduate level.

Candidates must also demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions in online and in-person environments.

Candidates should also have at least three years of experience teaching in higher education.

The successful candidate will be expected to follow a 40% Research, 40% Teaching and 20% Service workload each year.

The Faculty of Education at Ontario Tech University has five main programs:

  • Bachelor of Education (face-to-face & online),
  • BA in Educational Studies - College to University Pathway (online),
  • BA in Educational Studies - 4-year program (face-to-face & online),
  • Masters of Education/Arts (online), and
  • Doctorate of Education (online)

This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and the . The collective agreement may be found on the Human Resources section of our website. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and annual salary increases are administered as per the terms outlined in the collective agreement.
