CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s Global Markets business focuses on delivering expert financial and economic analysis and savvy deal-making capabilities to clients in Canada and around the world. The Global Markets team supports fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities, derivatives, equities, and growth markets and is focused on building a strong, innovative relationship-oriented bank.

Within CIBC Global Markets, the Alternate Solutions Group (ASG) was launched in 2013 with a mandate to develop innovative and creative technology-driven capital markets solutions. This group is an unconventional capital markets organization that combines the innovative spirit and agility of a FinTech startup with the financial strength and strong governance protocol of a major financial institution. ASG has been recognized as a global leader in providing disruptive technological capital markets solutions in several product areas including Cross Border Payments, Dynamic Currency Conversion, Multi-currency pre-paid cards, Foreign Cash & Precious Metals Online and white labeling thereof. ASG\xe2\x80\x99s client base stretches from some of the largest banks in the world, to corporates to CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s retail clients.

We are hiring on the Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) team, a leading FX product in ASG. DCC is a service enabled on ATMs that enables foreign cardholders to pay for their cash withdrawal in their home currency. This optional service provides foreign cardholders with the transparency of knowing exactly how much they will be debited. Since its inception, the DCC product team has built partnerships with 30+ financial institutions to enable this white label solution on 100,000+ ATMs worldwide.

How You\'ll Succeed

We are looking for high-energy individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit, who will help us build our DCC business. You will operate in a fast-paced environment as part of a dynamic, hardworking, production-focused product team. Your key mandates will be client relationship management, new client acquisition and team collaboration. Travel and time away from the office may be required based on business needs.

Managing Client Relationships

Establish trust-based relationships with clients (financial institutions), acting as their primary point of contact

Develop a consultative selling approach by deepening client relationships, anticipating their business needs and delivering for them as a trusted advisor

Meet with and present to clients on a regular basis (in English and Spanish) to review product performance, technical projects, and value-adding initiatives

Advancing Sales Pipeline

Further our mandate of new client acquisition by engaging prospects, pitching our product, originating deals, leading implementation projects, and managing production

Work closely with the distribution team to support sales cycle through the completion of client-facing presentations, analysis, and ad-hoc product expertise

Leveraging Analytical Skills

Identify, analyze, and interpret patterns in complex data sets and provide insightful recommendations on findings, proposed actions, growth opportunities and business initiatives

Monitor, track and analyze client portfolio performance and economic factors, on an ongoing basis throughout the day, including routine reporting, to be able to respond to client requests and address anomalies

Conduct comprehensive research to assist in the identification and/or analysis of business trends and opportunities

Collaborating within Cross-Functional Teams

Support and mentor team members through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving

Build effective internal relationships with stakeholders including distribution, delivery, technology, etc.

Establish appropriate context, direction and support when assigning work to ensure that team members support the achievement our goals and purpose

Who You Are

Completed an undergraduate university degree in business, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or related field, MBA is an asset

Strong understanding of capital markets, foreign exchange, payments, and financial technology

3+ years of professional work experience with a strong record of accomplishment of client relationship building and management, business analysis and sales

Previous management consulting, capital markets, and product management experience in FX payments is an asset

Able to lead cross-functional teams through complex tasks, projects, and initiatives

Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure, results-oriented work environment

Exceptional communication and persuasion skills in both English and Spanish (native proficiency)

Comfortable presenting analyses and recommendations to senior executives in both languages

Effective at creating client-facing material including RFPs, pitchbooks, presentation decks, etc.

Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Experienced working with complex data sets and performing quantitative analyses on Excel

Capable of working with limited information, ambiguity and making reasonable assumptions
