Indigenous Pathways provides training on story development, writing, critical thinking, ethics, and inclusion, as well as career development support and work experience. Journalism or Media Production education or job experience are not required to apply. The program runs until June 2025.One successful candidate will be based in either Iqaluit, Yellowknife or Whitehorse.This role requires full time on site presence.Indigenous Pathways provides journalism training, career development support, and work experience. Applicants do not require journalism education or experience to apply.CBC Indigenous Pathways is for you if:You are an aspiring First Nations, Inuit or M\xc3\xa9tis journalist.You have a deep interest in multimedia storytelling.You are connected to your community and passionate about its stories.You want to gain practical, hands-on experience working in a CBC newsroom.In this program, participants will:Develop skills and tools for advancing a career in journalism.Explore multi-platform storytelling through writing, images and sound.Create stories that connect with Indigenous audiences and reflect diverse perspectives.Grow relationships with, and be supported by, mentors, trainers, peers, and Indigenous CBC colleagues.Work in journalism, gaining valuable professional experience.We are looking for a candidate with the following:First Nations, Inuk or M\xc3\xa9tis with a connection to an Indigenous nation or community.Eager to work with the CBC.Aspiring to develop a career with the CBC.Willing to travel or potentially relocate for work with CBC.Knowledgeable about and experienced with communities in either Nunavut, the Northwest Territories or the Yukon.Fluency in written and spoken Inuktitut will be considered an asset.Able to provide storytelling examples and ideas.Interested in developing their technical skills.A skilled writer.A critical thinker who demonstrates ethics and integrity.A team player and leader.Please include a cover letter and tell us a bit about yourself: Why would you like to be part of this program?
