Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking an Associate Procurement Specialist - Materials.

The Associate Procurement Specialist - Materials will support internal stakeholders by obtaining quotes for materials and services, issuing purchase orders, and expediting deliveries. They will analyze the market conditions for materials and services within their portfolio, creating value / cost savings through strategic sourcing. The Associate Specialist will use Irving Shipbuilding\xe2\x80\x99s ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) & MRP (Material Resource Planning) systems to file, store and manage spend on executed contracts. They will also use these systems to view, reconcile and approve invoices and will support continuous improvement by consulting, advising, and adhering in the development of new Supply Chain Processes.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:

• Education: Post-secondary education in Commerce or Business Administration
• Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience
• Previous exposure to market analytics and insights
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Fluency in Microsoft Office

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

• Develop and improve supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance
• Tailor Procurement Packages
• Expedite Materials
• Invoicing activities
• Execution of negotiated contract through Irving Shipbuilding\xe2\x80\x99s ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) & MRP (Material Resource Planning) systems.
• Analyze market conditions (ex: pricing, availability, lead-time and capacity)
• Undertake cost analysis for direct material and services
