If so, an exciting opportunity has become available for an Associate Medical Director (or Medical Advisor) to join our Medical Affairs Department as CVD portfolio lead in the Cardio-renal and Alzheimer\xe2\x80\x99s Diseases unit.

The Position

As an Associate Medical Director (or Medical Advisor) in the Cardio-renal and Alzheimer\xe2\x80\x99s Diseases unit, you will take on a pivotal role driving strategic discussions for our CVD portfolio. You will drive a variety of projects related to evidence generation, scientific dialogue, publications, clinical care pathways among others. You will effectively collaborate and communicate with doctors that are Key Opinion Leaders, and provide timely, accurate and credible scientific and medical guidance to internal stakeholders from marketing, patient access, field and other functional areas. You will have an opportunity to represent the Director in high-level local and global committees.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic and Organizational Leadership: Leads the successful development and execution of medical strategies for assigned therapy area to achieve goals. Leverages insight of the Health Care System, industry trends and Health Care dynamics to inform strategy.
  • Evidence Generation: Identifies data and knowledge gaps and support generation of phase 3b and 4 program (global trials, local phase IV and Real-World Evidence (RWE))
  • KOL engagement: Create ties with external stakeholders including top Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), clinical investigators, academic institutions, professional organizations, payers, and others; drive the execution of KOL Advisory Boards and speaker training programs
  • Publication Planning: Drive local publication planning process including timely submissions and execution (abstracts, oral/poster conference presentations and publications)
  • Medical Guidance: Ensure sound scientific and medical guidance is provided for brand strategies; plans and tactics; Conduct internal training; Review and approve promotional material; Provision of tailored medical responses.

  • Ensure robust planning, budget monitoring, and considers innovative ways of working
  • Supports Director in planning therapeutic line/product annual budget, expenditures, capacity projections and operating expenses
Qualifications:
  • MD/PhD/PharmD/Pharmacist or equivalent is a requirement
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based medicine
  • 5-7 years of experience in medical field with 3 years of experience in Medical Affairs
  • Demonstrated excellence in medical writing, editing, and presenting to others
  • Industry experience or clinical experience in cardiovascular disease is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence
  • Strong organizational skills, including efficiency, multitasking, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment
  • Able to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong sense of ethics and integrity
The job requires occasional work outside of normal business hours including weekends, Frequent travel within Canada, US and overseas.
