Associate Lawyer - Collections & Creditors' Rights

Location: Saint John, New Brunswick

Term: Full-time

About the Role

Lawson Creamer is seeking a motivated and skilled associate lawyer to join our team, with a primary focus on collections and creditors' rights law. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop a focused practice in a high-demand area of law, working with financial institutions, commercial lenders, and corporate clients across New Brunswick.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing files from demand through enforcement, including court appearances, drafting pleadings and affidavits, and advising on recovery strategies. There is also opportunity within this role, at times, to support our commercial litigation group on related matters.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of collections files from demand through enforcement Draft affidavits, pleadings, legal briefs, and other court materials Represent clients in small claims and at the Court of Kings Bench, including attending and making submissions and arguments at applications, motions and trials Conduct judgment - debtor examinations and pursue other post-judgment remedies Advise clients on secured and unsecured recovery strategies Support senior counsel on complex commercial litigation and insolvency matters
