Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal principles and demonstrate the ability to effectively represent clients in a general legal practice with a focus on family law and litigation. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues. As a Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice, preparing legal documents, and advocating on behalf of clients in negotiations and court proceedings.

Responsibilities



Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation. Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents including contracts, agreements, and pleadings. Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes. Provide sound legal advice to clients regarding their rights and obligations. Maintain accurate records of all case-related activities and communications. Collaborate with other lawyers and legal professionals to develop case strategies. Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect client cases.

Experience



Law degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the bar in Alberta. Minimum one year (post bar call) of experience. Proven experience in legal writing, negotiation, research, and drafting. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Compensation



Pay will vary depending on experience and can include either salary or percentage of billable time collected, or a combination of both salary and percentage of billable time collected.
