Associate Lawyer
Job Description
NUGENT Law Office is a boutique labour and employment law firm in Edmonton, Alberta providing a full range of service to trade unions and employees in labour, employment, human rights, and administrative law. We represent clients at all levels of court and before administrative tribunals.
We are seeking to hire a lawyer called to the bar with up to 3 years of experience who is committed to advancing issues of workplace justice and who wants to work in a friendly, highly collaborative environment. Strong research and writing skills are required. Oral advocacy experience is an asset, and the successful candidate can expect to build on those skills here.
The successful candidate will both run their own files as well as work closely with senior lawyers on matters such as research, writing briefs and opinions, and hearing-related work. Candidates must be a member of, or eligible for membership in, the Law Society of Alberta. Salary range is currently between $90,000-$120,000, commensurate with experience and based on an annual expectation of 1200 billable hours. The successful candidate will also be eligible for performance-based bonuses. All our lawyers receive extended health benefits.
