Overview


We are a growing law firm based in Dundas Ontario with an immediate opening for an outstanding estates lawyer. This is a critical, high visibility role with opportunities to be significantly involved in growth of the firm. We provide legal services in real estate, estates, litigation and business transactions to clients in Dundas, Hamilton, Burlington, Brantford and the surrounding communities.

Our busy law firm is looking for an upbeat motivated

Real Estate & Estates Lawyer

with at least two years of experience in real estate law, estates administration and estate planning to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and drafting skills, a strong work ethic and a client-focused approach. The candidate will also have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple files and deadlines, and conduct research and analysis on complex legal issues and is tech forward thinking.

Duties



Advising and representing clients on various real estate matters, such as purchases, sales, refinances, title transfers and easements. Drafting and reviewing real estate documents, such as agreements of purchase and sale, mortgages commitments and other transaction documents. Conducting on- and off-title searches, drafting requisitions, and closing real estate transactions. Closing corporate transactions involving real estate assets, corporate reorganizations and commercial purchase/sale transactions. Advising and representing clients on various estate planning engagements. Drafting and reviewing wills, powers of attorney and related instruments. Administering estates and trusts, including interpretation of testamentary provisions, drafting probate applications, and advising on the distributions of estate assets and estate trustee compensation. Familiar with estate litigation matters, such as will challenges, dependent support claims and trust disputes.

Qualifications



Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Member of the Law Society of Ontario in good standing. Strong research skills with proficiency in legal research resources including CanLii. Platinum communication, writing and drafting skills. Proven negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively. Exceptional interpersonal skills with a commitment to client service and ethical practice.

Schedule



Monday to Friday. Commitments and deadlines may include additional hours during peaks.
We offer competitive and innovative compensation -

earn up to 40% of collected fees.

Pay: $64,028.03-$149,481.93 per year
