Barefoot Law is a busy firm located in Owen Sound looking to hire an Associate Lawyer. We defend Criminal Code charges and prosecute CDSA charges in Owen Sound and Walkerton. We have 4 lawyers, 4 paralegals and a law clerk on our team. We value teamwork, mentorship, and work-life balance in our firm.

What we are looking for in a candidate

Some criminal law experience, or at least some litigation experience with a demonstrated interest in criminal law Confident, organized, and keen Expectation that you will be able to run criminal files independently with minimal supervision within 6 months of starting
Job Specs

Full-time, in person, with the eventual possibility of working from home on occasion Must be willing to re-locate to Grey-Bruce Must drive and have access to a vehicle - free parking at office 3-4 month probationary period required, in order to be approved by the PPSC [Security Screening and testing] Working with 2 senior lawyers and 2 junior lawyers who will provide

Compensation:

The salary for this position will be commensurate with the applicant's skills and experience and ranges from

$65,000-$80,000

plus benefits, insurance fees, and Law Society dues. Lawyers are eligible for annual salary review and the potential for bonuses. The firm pays for membership fees for local bar associations (Grey County Law Association, Bruce County Law Association, CLA) as well as tickets for social events that are law-related or involve networking The firm compensates lawyers a portion of annual CPD as required by LSO.
