Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal principles and practices, with the ability to provide expert advice and representation to clients. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding the law while ensuring the best outcomes for our clients.

Responsibilities



Provide legal counsel and representation in various areas of law, including but not limited to civil, criminal, family, or corporate law. Conduct thorough legal research using resources such as LexisNexis to support case strategies and client needs. Draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and clarity. Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients while advocating for their best interests. Prepare for court appearances by organizing case files, gathering evidence, and developing arguments. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal developments and changes in legislation that may affect clients' cases. Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to ensure comprehensive representation for clients.

Qualifications



Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited common law school (Canadian degree preferred). Admission to the Alberta bar or ability to be qualified. Strong research skills with proficiency in using LexisNexis or similar legal research tools. Excellent writing skills with experience in legal drafting of various documents. Proven negotiation skills with the ability to reach favorable outcomes for clients. Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities to assess complex legal issues effectively. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
