Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable litigation associate to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a passion for providing exceptional legal services. This role involves representing clients in various legal matters, conducting thorough research, and drafting legal documents. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in negotiation and possess excellent writing skills to effectively communicate complex legal concepts.

Duties

Represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and other legal matters. Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as LexisNexis to support case preparation. Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and briefs. Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations while providing strategic guidance. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes. Maintain accurate records of case files and documentation. Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect clients' interests.

Experience

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited common law school (Canadian degree preferred). Admission to the Alberta bar or ability to be qualified. Strong research skills with proficiency in LexisNexis or similar legal research platforms. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful settlements. Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear and persuasive legal documents. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
