ASSOCIATE INDUSTRY PROGRAMMER

The Associate Industry Programmer will collaborate with a small programming team to deliver world class programming for international and Canadian filmmakers and industry professionals. Working with colleagues and external partners, the position plays a vital role in researching, planning and executing a number of Industry Initiatives. They will provide onsite support at the Industry Conference and Talent Development Labs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shall include but not be limited to:

  • Conduct research on relevant session topics to be programmed at the Industry Conference and Talent Development Labs
  • Identify relevant guest speakers for Conference, Labs and other Industry events
  • Collaborate with Industry team on expanding and delivering meaningful diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Draft copy for press releases, session descriptions, project books and announcements for Conference, Labs and other Industry initiatives
  • Greeting and hosting guest speakers and moderators, introducing sessions, and moderating Q&As as needed at the Conference and Labs
  • Liaise with invited speakers and internal teams to coordinate schedules, guest travel and accommodation logistics
  • Update Industry Conference webpages with panel descriptions, as well as bios/headshots for guest speakers
  • Liaise with the Event Production and Tech teams on schedules and tech requirements for sessions
  • Provide consistent updates to internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and integrity of programming
  • Oversee cost reports \xe2\x80\x93 in conjunction with Senior Manager, Industry Programming
  • Provide a detailed post mortem and recommendations on the critical path
  • Other programming and coordination tasks and duties as assigned
RATE OF PAY:
  • $26.00/Hourly
Requirements: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the Canadian or international film industries or in event production
  • Experience working with a film festival, preferably in a programming capacity, is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and international film landscapes with a working knowledge of trends, emerging and established filmmakers, and key players
  • Exceptionally strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Able to handle difficult situations and people with aplomb and grace
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of other languages is an asset
  • Excellent computer skills, and experience with G Suite applications
  • Experience with Artifax is an asset
  • Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
  • This position requires being in office on a regular basis.
