Reporting directly to the Director, Scientific Affairs, the Associate II plays a key role in the design and development of new bioLytical rapid point of care tests specifically as it relates to technical operations . You will contribute to design verification, validation, and design transfer activities--ensuring innovative ideas are transformed into reliable, high-quality medical devices. This position requires a strong foundation in scientific problem-solving, technical competency, and cross-functional collaboration, with opportunities to shape groundbreaking diagnostic technologies that impact global healthcare.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

Develop project or task objectives and proposals; Plan for design verification and validation testing Plan, design and execute stability studies Troubleshoot test results and design challenges Assess, interpret and evaluate research outcomes; Generate and compile data for meta-analysis white papers and publishing of peer reviewed papers Participate in risk management activities related with the product under development Translate design outputs into procedures, testing methods and quality control release criteria Support and lead design transfer, prepare requirements into documented design verification and validation test plans Collaborate actively within and outside the department to complete projects and advance creative solutions; Manage the use of resources and ensure their effective use; Present data within the company, at conferences, or exhibit work in other appropriate events; routinely communicate complex ideas to those with limited knowledge and understanding as well as to peers using high level skills and a range of media; Assist with training of laboratory or other related personnel

WHAT YOU BRING

Master's or Bachelor's degree in a life sciences discipline, preferably in biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology, medical technology, biology, chemistry, or related science. Minimum 3 years' experience in a research or clinical laboratory Industrial experience and protein biochemistry experience an asset Knowledge of or experience with GLP, GMP work preferred Experience in a BSL2 laboratory an asset Experience of 5S/Lean 6 Sigma an asset Excellent interpersonal skills, oral communication skills, and written communication skills are required Must be able to work independently following a brief orientation and training period Must have strong analytical and technical writing skills Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Access, Excel) Organized and detail-oriented Must be able to work with blood and blood-borne pathogens A go-getter that thrives in high energy environments

The annual base salary for this job ranges from:


$60,000-$65,000
