Job Description

An highly regarded law firm is on the lookout for an experienced Associate in the area of Banking and Financial Services to join their team. This is a chance for you to further develop your expertise and work with other legal professionals looking to learn from your. This opening is for a full-time lawyer and is located in Toronto and also has some flexibility for working partially remote.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 or more years experience working with lenders and borrowers in various financing transactions. This includes domestic, cross-border and international financing.

How you will make an impact:

- Supporting clients and other lawyers in the firm
- Analyze and summarize legal documents
- Legal research and drafting of a wide range of legal documents
- Communicate with clients and counsel

- Banking and financial services sector experience as mentioned above.
- Experience representing clients in insolvency proceedings is an asset
- Team player with strong analytical, personal, oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
- Stellar academic credentials and references
- Must possess analytical, legal research and writing skills
- Licensed in Canada with 3+ years of experience in Canadian law with a financial services focus practice
- Banking Law experience
- Knowledge of commercial law
