Job Description

An Associate Faculty position is a full-time role that provides coverage as needed for various classes. Associate Faculty work


directly with students and are responsible for facilitating lesson plans as needed. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent B.Ed.


graduate who is seeking classroom teaching experience, or for those with 1-3 years' experience.


The Associate Faculty role also


supports extra-curricular requirements We are looking for someone with a PHE background as there will be a large focus on


Athletics for that role.


This position works actively with the Boarding Team, providing support to the students in the boarding program, working


alongside other House Parents to perform regular, evening and weekend rostered duties, and to ensure appropriate supervision


and care is provided.


The successful candidate is required to live in shared accommodation onsite and is provided with daily meals, which are treated as


taxable benefits. Associate Faculty are placed on the School's teaching grid for the two-year contract period. For candidates who


are relocating from another Province, they will be provided with a nominal relocation allowance.

Qualifications will include:


Teaching certification required.
Completion of a B.Ed. program.
Superior reports from practicum experience

during attainment of teaching certification.

Ability to build strong rapport with students.
Team player who will work to foster an open

and positive classroom environment.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal

skills.

Experience teaching is considered an asset.
Experience in a residential type setting with

young students is considered an asset.

Ability to deal with a number of key

stakeholders (i.e. students, teachers, parents).

Key competencies and EQ in the following

areas: self-awareness, self-management,


empathy, social expertness, initiative and


accountability.


Responsibilities will include:

Provides both TTOC coverage and when necessary longer-term

coverage when faculty members are away for a leave of absence.

Facilitate student learning individually and in small groups.
Work with teachers to create a positive school environment that

will emphasize a student-centered, caring atmosphere.

Accompany students on field trips and excursions during class

time if required.

Liaise with teachers to address student social and emotional

needs, including those related to break, lunch, health, clothing,


and general well-being.

Attending Boarding meetings and participating in appropriate

Pro-D opportunities.

Supporting the Boarding Program through regular shifts in the

evenings and on weekends.

Engaging in select Boarding Activities and/or Overnight Trips
Supervising duties as required, including placement on a duty

rotation for lunch.

Participating in student activities during non-instructional time.
Expected to be involved in extracurricular activities in two of the

three school terms
