Job Description


The Agency currently has a permanent full-time Associate Director position available.

The Associate Director will work in collaboration with the Executive team to provide overall leadership in the Service
Departments to ensure that children requiring protection receive services which alleviate risk of harm, and that children
in need of alternate care receive residential care which provides for the child\'s security and promotes healthy
development. This position will play a key role in framing the strategic plan to ensure alignment with the mission and
vision of the Agency and will be responsible for compliance with all applicable legislation.

Major Position Responsibilities:

  • Plans and monitors day to day service to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Evaluates service initiatives using data and metrics.
  • Builds and maintains a vision-oriented organization.
  • Promotes a positive internal working within the team and the agency as a whole.
  • Provides overall leadership in the planning of all agency services and in the determination of service policy.
  • Promotes a positive relationship between the community and the agency, which supports and assists in the
achievement of the agency\'s vision and mission.
  • Provide direct supervision to Service Directors, Senior Legal Counsel, and other senior leaders, as determined.
  • Demonstrates leadership by being a positive collaborator within and external to the Agency, actively
participating on internal and external committees.
  • Contributes to the recruitment and selection of staff who meet established qualifications and who demonstrate
an affinity for the vision and mission of the Agency.
  • Acts as the back-up to the Executive Director
  • Works collaboratively across organizational boundaries and reporting structures to define performance
objectives to achieve the mission.
  • Acts as a change leader, supporting a climate of innovation and ensuring appropriate change management and
communication is occurring.
  • Ensures consistency of approach and quality and builds capacity within the organization.
  • Builds a collective equity vision based upon consultation with and learning from Indigenous communities and
marginalized groups.
  • Works in partnership with the Research & Quality Improvement Director in the creation planning and execution
of all service-related initiatives.
  • Works in collaboration with the Family Centre Manager, Family Centre partners and the Foundation in
the early intervention and prevention of child abuse.

Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • M.S.W or equivalent.
  • Minimum five (5) years\' experience in a senior level management position in a child protection agency.
  • Broad based clinical experience in different service functions within child protection.
  • Proven leadership at an executive level.
  • Outstanding communication and people skills.
  • Understanding of change management principles and demonstrated success in executing change management
strategies.
  • LEAN and Kaizen certification desired, but not required.
  • Highly developed analytical skills: an ability to be detailed oriented and able to think strategically.
  • Demonstrated experience in business transformation, including continuous improvement and process change
implementation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high standards of integrity and ethical behaviour.
  • Demonstrated commitment to principles of anti- oppression, equity, and inclusion.
Salary Range:
$116,425.26 - $146,947.43 (plus a 5% responsibility allowance)
Management & Excluded Grade 17
