What is the opportunity?

The Custody and Network Management unit is responsible for Global & Domestic custody (\xe2\x80\x9cCustody\xe2\x80\x99), network management, GFP, Primary markets products (ETFs, Loans), ICS and Benefit payments (\xe2\x80\x9cCustody Services\xe2\x80\x9d) within Investor Services (\xe2\x80\x9cIS\xe2\x80\x9d). The Regulatory Solutions team is a sub-group of the Custody and Network Management unit with a global oversight mandate on the regulatory environment.

In this role, you will support the overall product strategy and direction by identifying and assessing the impact of the regulatory environment on RBC Investor Services\xe2\x80\x99 products and services. You will initiate research and ensure timely communication of regulatory developments. Working with product managers, you will support designing and developing products considering the regulatory change.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for monitoring the regulatory environment and identifying and communicating critical regulations.
  • Proactively assess regulatory changes affecting I&TS products and its clients from a business perspective.
  • Proactively involved in assessing available market intelligence and stakeholder feedback (clients and functions) on strategy and evolution of the custody business, including target market, features, product/service experience, regulation and compliance.
  • Maintain and review material for internal or external audiences, including but not limited to High-Level Identification & Assessment Reports (HLIARs), Regulatory One-Pagers, and Regulatory Presentations;
  • Liaise with and advises internal partners on possible regulatory impacts, with the concurrence of the Director, Regulatory Solutions;
  • Partner with key business and functional groups to successfully manage evolving global regulatory developments for I&TS, including the following: Supporting the development of business cases in collaboration with Product teams; Working in an advisory capacity in regulatory projects and initiatives;
  • Support our client-facing staff to respond to client queries specific to regulatory impacts and changes.
  • Participate in internal and client communication efforts.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • BA or BSc in business, finance, economics and/or Law, or other relevant degree
  • 10-15 years progressive financial industry experience, with a specific focus in securities finance and global markets
  • Sound knowledge of capital markets, investment fund and custody markets, banking sector and related industry regulations
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory / compliance risk and finance principles
  • Prior experience in the implementation of complex and effective solutions and projects
  • Proven track record of applying creative solutions to complex problems
  • Strong corporate knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus across disciplines, departments and platforms
  • Works with minimal supervision and guidance
  • Results oriented
  • Team player

  • Professional qualifications from a recognized industry body
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French
