Hardy Terrace, located in Brantford, Ontario is a 101-bed long-term care home dedicated to enriching the lives of our residents in partnership with UniversalCare, our family members, valued employees, and community partners.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Associate Director of Care position is a critical role with overall accountability for influencing and advancing the standard of clinical practice and care outcomes for our residents.

As part of our team, your role as an Associate Director of Care contributes to our resident experiences in the following ways:

Works in collaboration with registered staff in the planning, developing and evaluation of nursing practice.
Participates in quality management activities and ensures activities carried out are in alignment with the home's strategic plan and with a focus to continuously improve clinical care practices and resident care.
Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation including but not limited to: Ministry Acts, regulations, policies and procedures, directives, and collective agreements.
Fosters effective interpersonal relationships between residents, families, and other interdisciplinary health team members in relation to nursing and clinical care.
In collaboration with internal/external stakeholders resolves resident care problems and concerns, identifies, and analyzes trends in resident care outcomes and creates/implements strategies to improve overall resident care.
In the absence of the Associate Director of IPAC, assumes the duties of the Associate Director of IPAC.
Works in accordance with the organization's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario, in good standing.
Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a clinical leadership position in the long-term care sector.
Must have demonstrated supervisory and leadership abilities in the areas of people management, labour relations, departmental coordination and clinical/quality improvement activities, etc. preferably in a health care setting.
Sound knowledge of the Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act 2021, Ontario Regulations 246/10.
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Point Click Care and other computerized documentation systems.
Preference will be given to individuals with current membership with GNA and/or RPNAO.
All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector check.
