This role involves close collaboration with Deans, Associate Deans, and Division Chairs to identify and prioritize communications and marketing opportunities, translating them into an annual communications and marketing plan that benefits the college overall. The incumbent meets regularly with faculty leadership for proactive planning and relationship management. The Associate Director oversees and coaches a team responsible for delivering consistent and compelling stories about Langara College, aimed at supporting increased student recruitment, in alignment with strategic enrolment targets.This role includes direct oversight of the Manager, Content Strategy, ensuring that storytelling aligns with identified priorities and effectively portrays Langara College as a trusted place to teach, work and study. The Associate Director collaborates with the Associate Director of Enrolment Communications & Marketing and the Director of Strategic Communications & Marketing to define and implement the optimal service model, team guidelines, and workflows for the team. The Associate Director, Faculty Relations, plays a vital role in ensuring that communication strategies align with the college\'s broader goals and support the modernization of Langara College\'s communications function.Qualifications Required:Education & Experience:Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a related discipline, such as Communications, Arts and Social Sciences, Business Administration, or Higher Education field.Minimum eight (8) years of experience in managerial capacity overseeing a higher education program spanning numerous academic programs, with a variety of faculty stakeholders, and a Communications / Marketing component.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Excellent knowledge of the British Columbia and Canadian education systems.Good knowledge of Communications \xe2\x80\x93 either as a client or member of a Higher Education Communications team \xe2\x80\x93 is an asset.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and relationship-building skills.Demonstrated experience surfacing student success stories for publication by a Communications team.Demonstrated experience in the development of data-driven strategies and plans, including reputation management.Considerable knowledge of publishing, print, and multi-media design and production processes.Demonstrated experience in project management methodologies and processes.Demonstrated experience in managing human resources including hiring, supervising, recruitment, training, and performance management of staff, preferably in a complex unionized environment.Experience with marketing partnerships and sponsorships in a public sector environment.Experience in developing and managing budgets.SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong oral and written communications skills, including the ability to represent the College on some media issues.Strong creative, strategic-thinking, analytical, organizational, and personal skills.Skills writing marketing decks, and presentations.Skills overseeing the production of campaigns, collateral, and events.Commitment to working in an environment of collaboration and shared decision-making as well as in cross-functional teams.Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.Ability to build cross-functional multi-disciplinary teams and motivate people.Ability to function with a high degree of tact and diplomacy.Ability to react quickly and deal successfully with sometimes conflicting objectives in an open and public environment.Ability to work as part of the College\xe2\x80\x99s leadership team.Leadership Competencies
