Recruitment range: $79,376- $87,518 starting salary

determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

Performance range: $103,243

salary range ceiling is available through annual performance increases. Job Summary
The Associate Director, Custom MBA has a primary focus on the MBA in Advancing Reconciliation and is responsible for three essential components: academic program management, student support and client relationship management.


The Associate Director, Custom MBA leads all administrative aspects of program delivery to ongoing and concurrent cohorts of Indigenous and non-Indigenous students of a client organization, while collaborating extensively with the Academic Directors and the Director, Custom MBA Program Admin on strategic issues, direction and support for all custom MBA programs.


Objectives:





Reporting to the Director, Custom MBA Program Admin, the Associate Director, Custom MBA plays a key role in the development, implementation and administration of custom programs, including:


admissions and registration program development and delivery instructional design oversight and administration of program delivery platforms administrative and logistical control student liaison, counseling and support academic planning client organization liaison.

As a result of the delivery model of custom programs, this position requires some work outside regular working hours (8:30am-4:30pm) on evenings and weekends.


Lead all program administration components including development, delivery, admissions and registration for ongoing and concurrent cohorts. Design and deliver holistic services, programs and academic advising supports to Indigenous and non-Indigenous students, fostering an inclusive learning environment and sense of belonging for adult learners of diverse backgrounds. Design and independently manage high-touch engagement, support and communication plans for students, instructors, client organizations and alumni. Independently manage budget for face-to-face modules and events within approved limits, be knowledgeable of university program funding arrangements and be competent in the use of UVic's procurement, purchasing and financial reporting procedures. Maintain successful high-profile client organization relationships, terms of agreement and quality delivery of programs to maintain Gustavson brand and UVic reputation. Collaborate with the Academic Director and the Director, Custom MBA Program Admin to define and implement program improvements, define and maintain program budgets, develop and implement sound administrative policies and processes that support custom MBA programs while adhering to UVic academic policies, administrative processes and requirements. Leverage UVic enterprise tools and creativity to elevate service delivery and experience for key interest-holders (students, client organizations, instructors, UVic colleagues and partners, etc.). Apply current UVic Indigenous Plans to advance initiatives that support Indigenous self-determination and foster respectful and reciprocal relationships with local First Nations. Contribute to the strategic goals of the school. Job Requirements
This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a master's degree in a relevant field plus three years of program management experience in a post-secondary setting including:


Experience managing the administration of an academic program Experience supporting a diverse group of adult learners holistically and in a student-centric way Experience liaising with high-profile external clients and managing client relations

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.


Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:




Extensive knowledge of UVic academic and administrative policies. Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently apply project management best practices to achieve project goals on time in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and collaborate, build and maintain positive relationships with all interest-holders including colleagues, students, instructors, high-profile external clients and community members, with tact, diplomacy and cultural awareness. Ability to independently identify and analyze issues, develop solutions, and implement effective strategies to achieve desired outcomes. Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive and respectful working and learning environment and valuing the principles of truth and reconciliation. Training or experience in trauma-informed communications. Ability to work effectively and respectfully with Indigenous students, Elders and community members. Understanding of appropriate protocol with Indigenous communities and organizations, particularly Coast Salish and as they relate to post-secondary education. Ability to use creativity, initiative and coach-like curiosity toward continuous improvement and service excellence. Enthusiastic ability to use instructional design, including through online delivery, to enhance the student experience. Proficient skills in, and enthusiasm to use and leverage, university software such as Banner, FAST, Brightspace, SharePoint, MS Teams, Outlook, Microsoft Office suite, SurveyMonkey and ability to adapt to using client software. Ability to carry and lift program equipment and materials. Travel may be required.
