Job Description



What is the opportunity?




Provide independent and objective 2nd Line of Defence oversight for the implementation of the Enterprise Culture and Conduct Risks Framework requirements in business segments and functional areas. Provide oversight of the Culture and Conduct Risks topics with RBC Units across NFR program outputs, Business Strategy Reviews and change initiatives. Support the integration and embedding of Culture and Conduct Risks considerations across NFR programs. Manages team's adherence to the Enterprise Risk Policy Target Operating Model for ECRR Team governance documents. Contribute to the overall success of the team by researching and providing insights and analysis on culture and conduct risk related matters, issues and trends across RBC.

What will you do?



Provide governance, oversight and challenge of the Culture and Conduct Risks topics



Provide oversight of our topics with RBC Units across NFR program outputs (i.e., OREs, Risk Register, RCSAs, External Events, Scenario Analysis, etc.), BPR (Business Strategies), and change initiatives. Provide oversight and challenge to businesses on their culture and conduct practices; identify key strengths and opportunities for improvement. Partner across a vast stakeholder and contributor group to support Framework requirements and continued maturity of practices. Manages ECRR team's adherence to Enterprise Risk Policy target operating model (for our frameworks and policies) (includes working with RBC Units and regions to retire and/or develop unit-specific procedures instead of having an addendum).

Support the integration of Culture and Conduct risks considerations across other risk management disciplines



Communicate and collaborate to embed a Culture and Conduct mindset within the businesses and functions. Enhance and support how RBC assesses transverse risks like Culture and Conduct Risks. Support the identification and management of Client, Product and Suitability (CPS) Risk by 1LOD. Provide support to the CPS Risk Centre of Governance and related taxonomy changes. Serve as ECRR team champion as certain initiatives arise.

Provide advisory services on Culture and Conduct Risks topics and monitor key and emerging issues



Conduct research into new and emerging conduct topic areas across the jurisdictions that RBC operates in. Lead the team in independent, thematic reviews and/or emerging risk assessments to increase awareness of risk exposure, as required. In particular client and consumer protection topics will require attention. Support our regional 2LOD partners in the oversight of Culture and Conduct Risks. Consistently demonstrate behaviours that embed a strong risk management culture. Manage ECRR team SharePoint site which provides information to the Culture and Conduct Risks Community of Practice.

Act as a Leader in ORM



Drive the strategy, culture and activities that enable the team to operate as an integrated organization. Actively support a culture of integrity and behaviors that align to RBC's Code of Conduct and professional standards. Provide coaching and guidance to colleagues in a matrix environment. Work collaboratively across global teams, contributing to an engaged workforce who are effective, knowledgeable and adaptable. Contribute to an environment of continuous personal growth.

What do you need to succeed?



Must-have



4-7 years of experience in risk management in 1st and/or 2nd Line of Defence Demonstrated analytical capability and able to effectively consolidate information and craft insights from internal and external sources to share with numerous stakeholder groups Ability to foster collaborative relationships with partners across 1st and 2nd LOD Experience in MS Office and PowerPoint, designing and executing presentations for Senior Mgmt and Board audiences Proven ability to navigate and solve problems despite ambiguity Superior attention to detail in preparation of presentations and deliverables Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
