Your Role and Responsibilities Securities Industry Services provides a comprehensive back office suite of applications to Wealth Management firms in Canada. We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to lead and manage several delivery teams responsible for the successful execution of the application development process. This role will oversee the delivery of high-quality software applications and enhancements, and ensure the provision of exceptional application production support services. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage and mentor a team of developers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a team of developers, providing guidance and direction.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of existing in-house applications, and/or integrate third party applications.
  • Understand business needs and objectives, translating them into technical requirements.
  • Develop application roadmaps and manage the overall delivery of projects.
  • Ensure that all applications are developed using best practices and adhere to company standards.
  • Conduct code reviews and quality assurance testing to ensure deliverables meet or exceed expectations.
  • Monitor application performance, support service restoration during incidents as required, identify improvement opportunities, and implement necessary enhancements.
  • Continuously improve development processes based on lessons learned.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for upper management and clients as required.
  • Participate in budget planning and forecasting.
  • Collaborate closely and foster effective communication across the organization with the infrastructure team, business analysts, testers, project managers, and sales teams.
  • Identify staffing needs, including contractors and vendors, and account for staffing plans.
  • Demonstrate leadership by mentoring team members and engaging with peers and clients.
  • Ensure customer-centric service delivery within contractual frameworks.

  • Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • In-depth experience in software development.
  • Extensive managerial experience overseeing teams with direct reports.
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and platforms, as well as software integration.
  • Extensive development management experience in the Wealth Management application space is an asset.
  • Familiarity with mainframe applications is an asset.
