Applications are invited for the position of Associate Dean, School of Technology in the Media, Trades and Technology Division, located at the Welland Campus. The salary range is $115,032 to $153,374 for a 35-hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.
Reporting to the Dean of Media, Trades and Technology, the successful candidate works collaboratively with a high-performance academic, administrative, and support divisional team to lead in the development, delivery and ongoing review of the full-time and part-time post-secondary and non-post-secondary programs and services in the department. The Associate Dean will ensure that the programs are effectively and efficiently delivered, meet Ministry, CQAAP, CVS, or PEQAB standards, and are relevant to the needs of college students. The School of Technology offers a range of Engineering Technician and Technologist programs, including Civil, Construction, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Photonics, and Renewable Energies, and outstanding facilities for the delivery of the various programs and the technical training of our students. Faculty, staff, and students actively participate in research and innovation projects. The Associate Dean is also responsible for assisting in the ongoing management of the other Schools in the Division.
The Associate Dean is responsible for planning and implementing the academic delivery of the School of Technology courses and programs, in line with the college budget and enrolment forecasts, while providing leadership in the development and renewal of curriculum, effective hiring and development of faculty, and management of workload assignments. The incumbent will supervise faculty and staff and manage the delivery of courses and programs in the portfolio. This role requires a high degree of collaboration with the Dean, Associate Deans, faculty, and college stakeholders to ensure that courses and programs are delivered effectively and efficiently with a focus on quality and student success. Resolving academic integrity cases, dealing with student issues, attending community and college recruitment events, and participating in college-wide committees are also responsibilities of the Associate Dean.
