Overview

ScanDesigns/Muse and Merchant is a busy locally owned furniture retailer. Our warehouse supports our retail locations and provides deliveries to our lower mainland customers.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in supporting the Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring efficient warehouse processes, and enhancing overall productivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, logistics, and supply chain operations, with a focus on continuous improvement and process optimization.

Duties

Assist in managing warehouse operations, including shipping & receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment related to our delivery program. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs within the warehouse. Oversee transportation management systems and ensure effective transportation planning. Collaborate with supply chain management to optimize demand planning and production planning processes. Supervise warehouse staff, providing guidance and training to ensure high performance. Maintain accurate inventory management practices using ERP systems and warehouse management systems. Conduct regular audits of inventory levels and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Support budgeting activities related to warehouse operations and materials management. Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of warehouse distribution.

Experience

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse environment. Familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with transportation management, logistics, and supply chain analytics. Proficient in inventory control practices and freight management. Knowledge of procurement processes, purchasing strategies, and dispatching operations. Experience operating forklifts and managing fleet operations is preferred.
