Job Description

Renowned 16 acres organic vineyard is looking for an assistant vineyard manager/ cellar hand to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will take part in an ambitious project on an exceptional terroir. Job Duties: Pruning, planting, irrigating, shoot thinning and tucking, rock picking, mowing, weeding, netting, harvesting, monitoring plant health, operating equipment (e.g. hand tools, lawnmowers, etc.), maintaining building on the property, record keeping and other related duties. Qualifications and skills:

• Organize, control, and participate in all aspects of the vineyard mechanization. (De-weeding, hedging, spraying\xe2\x80\xa6)
• Ensure the proper maintenance of the equipment.
• Ensure the proper maintenance and running of the irrigation system
• Monitor the vineyard for disease and pest
• Apply and enforce health and safety within the workplace
• Prior experience working in a vineyard an asset
• Knowledge of agricultural practices is preferred
• Reliable, team player and self motivated
• Good attention to detail required
• Must have Canadian citizenship/residency or a valid Canadian work permit
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Required to perform physically demanding & repetitive work.
• Must be available for the entire season
• Must be able to work 40-50 hours/week including regular weekend work
• Must be physically capable of performing assigned duties and tasks
• Required to work for prolonged period of time in dry hot summer temperatures

• Degree or certificate in viticulture preferred
• English and driving license essential

Salary depending on experience. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year Benefits:
