The School of Trades & Technology at Thompson Rivers University invites applications for a two-year limited-term position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor in the Water & Wastewater Technology program.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering 640 instructional hours annually, equivalent to approximately seven courses per year, within the Water & Wastewater Technology diploma program.
School of Trades and Technology is a dynamic, hands-on learning unit delivering industry-aligned trades foundation and apprenticeship training across 20 trades, in a regionally-focused, community-engaged setting. We provide state-of-the-art facilities, strong partnerships with SkilledTradesBC and local industry, and a mission to build the next generation of skilled trades professionals.
Preference will be given to applicants with advanced education or exemplary experience in Water and Wastewater Treatment operation, public health and protection of the environment.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (Science, Technology, Engineering) or equivalent in a closely related discipline
The ability to develop and teach undergraduate courses (theory and laboratory practice)
An understanding of, and experience in, the Canadian water and wastewater systems, operations and legislation.
A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
A commitment to honouring Truth, Reconciliation and Rights in PSE
Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
Proficiency in MS Office and learning management systems.
Assets:
Masters Degree (Science, Technology, Engineering) or equivalent in a closely related discipline
Prior post-secondary education (PSE) -level teaching experience in related discipline
Experience in curriculum development
Work experience and connections to Industry.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to efficiency and effectiveness.
