The

Kamloops Tsunami Summer Swim Club

is presently accepting applications for a

Assistant Coach

for the summer of 2026.

The Tsunami Swim Club has approximately 50 swimmers of all ages, experience and skill level. We have a good mix of social and competitive swimmers with a number of Provincial finalists and medalists. Our summer training facility is an 8 lane outdoor pool in Kamloops. The club competes regionally throughout the beautiful Okanagan.

Kamloops boasts many outdoor summer activities such as hiking, fishing, mountain biking, free music evenings in the park, golf, many nearby lakes and beaches and much more. We are also close to SunPeaks Resort which offers many activities and experiences for you to explore. Lots to keep you entertained in between practices!

? Assisting the head coach in planning, organizing, and implementing a summer swimming

training program for the team/group, including a dryland component

? Working alongside and overseeing junior coaches

? Assisting swimmers to develop their personal goals

? Commitment to morning and afternoon practices Monday-Friday as well as traveling to

swim meets some weekends throughout the season.

Our season starts at the beginning of May and ends August 18th 2026.

Qualifications:



? NLS and CPR - C

? WSI or equivalent

? Preference given to applicants with NCCP Level 1 Certification, working towards

certification, or willingness to participate in a course prior to May 1, 2026.

? Previous coaching and competitive swimming experience

? Strong background in swimming technique and training

? Passion for swimming and working with children and youth

? Strong leadership and communication skills

? A valid driver's license or ability to organize own transportation to and from Okanagan

swim meets will be required.

? Prior to confirmation of hire, a clear Police Information Check, with vulnerable sector

screening must be provided by the applicant.

Application deadline: Jan. 6, 2026

Wage will be $12,800 plus per diems for swim meets and may be negotiated based on experience and qualifications
