We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for retail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties



Assist in overseeing daily store operations and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Support the recruitment, training, and development of staff, fostering a positive team environment. Manage inventory control processes, including ordering, stocking, and merchandising products effectively. Handle payroll and bookkeeping tasks to maintain accurate financial records. Utilize POS systems for transactions and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed. Engage with customers to provide outstanding service and resolve any inquiries or issues promptly. Implement sales strategies to meet store goals while maintaining high standards of visual merchandising. Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure product availability and minimize shrinkage. Collaborate with the Store Manager on budgeting and financial planning initiatives. Lead by example in promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Experience



Previous experience as an Assistant Manager or in a supervisory role within retail management is preferred. Strong skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and training & development. Proficiency in inventory management, cash handling, retail math, pricing strategies, and sales management. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse customers and team members; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus. Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in team management and shift management. Familiarity with administrative tasks such as budgeting, bookkeeping, merchandising, stocking, marketing, and grocery store operations is advantageous. Strong organizational skills coupled with effective time management abilities to prioritize tasks efficiently.
