We are a family-owned animal feed store looking for a motivated Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations and help grow our brand locally.
In this role, you'll assist the Store Owners with scheduling, employee management, hiring/training, inventory, customer shipments and supplier shipments/purchasing. You'll also play a key role in marketing and community engagement -- including creating social media content, organizing sales and promotions and planning local events to promote the store.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and creative -- someone who can manage store operations while also bringing fresh ideas for marketing, events, and customer engagement. Duties
Serving customers to meet their needs - MUST be able to lift 50lb bags repeatedly
Assist in managing store operations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Supervise and train staff on customer service excellence, merchandising standards, and operational processes.
Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, inventory control, and merchandising.
Manage cash handling procedures and ensure accurate cashiering practices.
Provide leadership in shift management and ensure proper scheduling for optimal store coverage.
Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and team management.
Engage with customers to enhance their shopping experience and resolve any issues promptly.
Assist in budgeting and financial reporting as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized store environment that reflects the brand's image.
Requirements
Strong communication skills for engaging with both customers and team members.
Strong negotiation skills for effective vendor interactions and pricing strategies.
Experience in inventory management, and retail sales is essential.
Proven supervisory experience with a focus on team management and leadership.
Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is required.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of merchandising techniques, marketing strategies and stocking procedures is an asset

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 - 45 per week
