Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Store Manager to join our Gateway team! In this role, you will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance. You will play a vital role in managing staff, maintaining inventory, and creating a positive shopping experience for our customers. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong organizational skills and a passion for cannabis.

Responsibilities

Assist in the management of store operations to ensure efficiency and profitability. Supervise and train staff, fostering a collaborative team environment. Handle recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees. Manage merchandising efforts to optimize product displays and inventory levels. Utilize POS systems for transactions and manage cash handling procedures. Keep clear communication with off-site Store Purchasers and Manager to maintain store stock levels. Implement pricing strategies assigned to store. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Monitor sales performance and assist in developing strategies to achieve sales targets. Communicate effectively with team members and upper management regarding store operations and staff.

Skills

Experience in retail sales, merchandising, and store management is essential. Proficient in cash handling, payroll processing, and budgeting practices. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in team management and training & development. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone etiquette. Familiarity with marketing strategies to promote store offerings effectively. Basic math skills for accurate financial transactions and reporting. Consumer of cannabis an asset. Must have Smart Choices Certification (by start date - at cost of candidate) Must have a clear Criminal Record Check (by start date - at cost of candidate)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
