Assistant Store Manager - Fresh (Halifax Market) Currently this role will be assigned to our Lower Sackville Real Atlantic Superstore #351 location.



As an Assistant Store Manager (ASM), Fresh, your area of responsibility includes (but not limited to) all fresh departments including Produce (including Salad Bar, Bulk, Floral, Garden Centre), Home Meals Replacement (HMR), Deli, Meat & Seafood, Bakery, etcetera.

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager will provide excellence in customer service. Demonstrate leadership by managing employees and effectively planning.


Working with your team of Department Managers you will lead, mentor, direct and coach your teams within the assigned departments and the store.


What you'll do

Anticipate the needs of our customers and put them first in all that you do Lead, coach and motivate your Department Manager team and colleagues to achieve success and foster colleague growth Be involved in community initiatives to build long term relationships with the communities. Be committed to maintaining Fresh Done Right (FDR) merchandising, operational standards and be accountable for financial objectives In the absence of the Store Manager, execute and manage the day to day operations of the store Provide input to the Store Manager to help shape business strategy within the store. As an ASM Fresh, you are responsible for all fresh department team leadership, colleague engagement, metrics, etc. Perform elevated 'Manager on Duty' responsibilities as assigned.

What you'll bring:

Exceptional customer service skills and a talent for building customer loyalty and community relationships Demonstrated ability to improve productivity, engagement and retention within your area of responsibility and the entire store. Experience managing retail operations within the grocery/fresh areas or a comparable industry or other comparable Leadership positions with transferrable skillset. Ability to work independently Strong financial acumen to deliver business results Commitment to delivering consistent results, everyday Participate with the Store Manager supporting the store within the community A strong emotional intelligence philosophy
