Assistant Spa Manager

to join our team.

Must have open availability to work mornings starting at 7 am, evenings until 11 pm, weekends and holidays.*

Role Overview



The

Assistant Spa Manager

is a leadership role focused on driving sales revenue, managing inventory, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. You will play a crucial part in promoting retail products, growing membership sales, and maintaining strong standards for guest satisfaction. This role directly impacts spa performance, inventory control, and fostering a welcoming environment to enhance guest loyalty and retention. Working closely with the Spa Manager and Spa Supervisor, you will ensure smooth operations and consistent service.

Key Responsibilities



Guest Focus & Retention

Foster meaningful relationships with guests to encourage repeat visits and personalized experiences. Ensure every guest feels valued and their needs are consistently met, maintaining a strong level of guest satisfaction.

Inventory & Merchandising

Oversee retail inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels, efficient reordering, and product rotation. Maintain visually appealing retail displays that align with promotions and seasonal trends to maximize sales.

Leadership and Team Collaboration

: Lead and motivate the team to ensure strong performance and collaboration. Provide coaching, feedback, and training to uphold service excellence. Maintain open communication with the Spa Leadership team to set clear expectations for the team.

Administrative & Operational Duties

Manage inventory tracking, assist with scheduling and daily operational functions through MindBody and other tools. Ensure records are accurate, reports are generated, and operations run smoothly.

Sales & Product Knowledge

Drive retail sales and membership sign-ups by promoting high-margin products and explaining their benefits. Stay informed on wellness trends, sharing knowledge with the team to optimize sales and guest experience.

Facility Maintenance

Work closely with the Spa Supervisor to maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the spa. Address any facility issues immediately to ensure the space remains welcoming and operational for guests. Manage all supplies required for the daily operations of the spa, including cleaning, massage, and office supplies.

Guest Experience Enhancement:

Ensure the atmosphere aligns with Cedar & Steam's core values. Maintain an elevated, welcoming environment that supports an exceptional guest experience, addressing any concerns or requests as needed, while consistently maintaining strong standards of service and professionalism in all guest interactions.

Qualifications



Education

:

No specific formal education required, but a general understanding of health and wellness is an asset. Leadership or Management training is considered an asset. AGLC Proserve certificate is required. Standard | Intermediate First Aid and CPR [SFA|CPR] is required. Police Information Check [PIC] is required.
Applicants who do not have these are encouraged to apply. If you join our team, you will be required to provide current and valid documentation of Proserve, Standard First Aid/CPR Level C, and Police Information Check within 30 days of hire into this position.*

Experience

:

Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a spa, wellness center, hospitality, or related industry. Bartending or serving experience is a plus. Previous knowledge of massage therapy and essential oils is ideal. Visual merchandising experience is an asset. Experience with Mindbody software or similar systems is preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

:

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with guests, team members, and vendors to foster repeat business and brand loyalty. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Sales acumen, with experience in driving retail sales and membership growth. Expertise in inventory management, ensuring accurate tracking, ordering, and merchandising. A desire to deliver exceptional 5-star experiences and foster a welcoming, results-driven environment.
