Compensation
$34.60/hour
The Opportunity
This role is ideal for someone who holds a 4th Class ticket, or is close to obtaining one, and wants more than textbook knowledge.
You will be in the plant. You will see how a steam facility operates in real time. You will support acid production systems. You will be part of a team that manages energy generation and chemical processing in a controlled, safety-first environment.
If you want practical experience that strengthens your path toward higher class certification, this position offers exactly that.

  • Initial training schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • After training: Rotating shift schedule
  • Two weeks of 12-hour day shifts
  • Two weeks of 12-hour night shifts
  • Two weeks of 10-hour day shifts, Monday to Thursday
  • Rotation repeats following the six-week cycle
Position Description
  • Supporting the Shift Engineer in operating certified steam and production systems
  • Monitoring processes and responding to plant conditions
  • Coordinating bulk product loading operations
  • Conducting lab testing to ensure environmental compliance
  • Keeping the facility organized and operating to high housekeeping standards
  • Working closely with maintenance teams and plant personnel
This is a rotating continental shift position, so flexibility is essential.
Experience
  • Industrial, manufacturing, or plant experience
  • Familiarity with chemical processing or utilities is helpful
  • Comfort working in a regulated, safety-driven environment
  • Team-oriented mindset
Qualifications
  • TSSA 4th Class Operating Engineer certification or active progression toward it
  • Power Engineering education is an asset
  • First Aid and CPR certification considered beneficial
  • Clear communicator who takes safety seriously
  • Must be a qualified Power Engineer in good standing
