Purpose of your Position - Non Union

Classification Summary - Union

Bring your experience and EOCP certification as an Assistant Sewer Equipment Operator. You are responsible for the safe driving and operation of a Tandem Axle combination Jet/Vacuum truck along with performing the daily inspection, maintenance and operation of a variety of power tools and sewer equipment. You offer excellent customer service skills and are able to be flexible and adaptable to adjust to the changing situations.

Duties - Union

Operates and maintains specialized sewer cleaning and inspection equipment, including high-pressure flusher/vacuum trucks; rodding equipment, root-cutters and other specialized attachments, a computerized CCTV camera unit and other equipment related to sewer maintenance. Enters confined spaces to perform routine maintenance and assessment of systems. Cleans and clears pipes, manholes, catch basins, wet wells, etc. Performs minor repairs to the systems. Responds to alarms Performs regular inspection duties Reads and interprets maps, drawings and utility records. Responds to enquiries from the public. Utilizing customized computer systems, performs data entry, updates mapping and generates reports.

Sitting, driving, walking on hard surfaces or on uneven surfaces, climbing in/out of jet/vac truck, climbing ladders, lifting, pulling up to 60kg, carrying, dirty work (sewage), working in all weather and seasonal conditions, day or night work, working around loud noises, shovelling/digging, Confined space entries, working in traffic and construction sites
