We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Quality Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing team who supports quality control systems by performing inspections, documenting results, and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include conducting product and process inspections, analyzing data, raising non-conformance reports, and helping to maintain quality documentation and audits. They collaborate with other teams to resolve quality issues and ensure adherence to standards.
Responsibilities
Inspection and testing:
Perform initial, in-process, and final inspections of products using measuring instruments and other tests to ensure they meet specifications.
Data analysis and reporting:
Analyze test and inspection results, document findings, and generate reports on quality and compliance issues.
Quality system support:
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of quality control systems, procedures, and documentation, including those for ISO 9001.
Non-conformance management:
Raise non-conformance reports for issues found during inspections and escalate problems when necessary. Corrective action knowledge
Continuous improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements, participate in corrective and preventive action activities, and assist with quality audits.
Collaboration:
Work with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, and production, to identify and resolve quality problems.
Documentation and compliance:
Help maintain quality records, draft technical documents, and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Customer interaction:
Interact with customers on quality-related matters and assist with customer-related concerns.
PPAP:
Create/Revise PPAP workbooks (excel) for submissions to customer (mostly automotive)
Required skills and qualifications
A relevant technical diploma or bachelor's degree in quality assurance, engineering, or a related field.
Strong math and analytical skills to interpret data.
Proficiency with computer applications, such as the Microsoft Office suite (primarily Excel).
Knowledge of quality control processes and procedures.
Ability to read GD&T Prints
Familiar with Hand measuring equipment and Part Inspection Gauges
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Knowledge of Automotive PPAP process
Knowledge of Magna QPF system would be an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
