70 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:45 PM (Nine-Day Fortnight)

This position works in the Strategic Initiatives Division in the Planning and Development department. This is administrative and technical work involving: project coordination work for a variety of development approval process improvement projects; project liaison with internal and external parties; the preparation of various reports, project specifications, and project schedules; and assisting in the management of process improvement projects. Overall project priorities are established by a supervisor and within those parameters an incumbent exercises considerable independence of judgement and action. Further duties include attending all project committee meetings; reviewing plans; preparing and maintaining a variety of materials such as records, status reports and correspondence; investigating discrepancies; reviewing and advising on proposed changes; recommending actions; monitoring and assessing project progress including schedule, risk, and resourcing. Performs related work as required.


Qualifications include Graduation from an Institute of Technology in a relevant Diploma program, including or supplemented by courses in project management plus sound related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Thorough knowledge of methods and practices as related to the work performed such as Lean/Six Sigma, change management, project management and applicable software. The ability to coordinate the design process and scheduling of projects; to review, analyze, assess and interpret related plans, specifications and other material; to deal effectively and tactfully and maintain cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts; and to prepare and maintain related reports, records, and correspondence. Driver's Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.


This is a temporary full time opportunity until March 29, 2027.
