The West Vancouver Parks, Culture and Community Services Department has an opening for a permanent, part-time Assistant Program Coordinator - Health and Fitness. Reporting to the Program Coordinator - Health and Fitness, this position will be:
Assisting with supervising, recruitment, training, and mentoring kinesiologists, personal trainers, and group fitness instructors;
Assisting with developing, organizing, and coordinating personal training, group fitness, active rehabilitation programs and special events;
Providing customer service to personal training and program patrons;
Providing administrative assistance to program delivery, marketing efforts and special projects;
Instructing active rehabilitation classes as required;
Assuming responsibility for facility and program operations as required; and,
Responsible for other related duties as needed.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with excellent customer service skills, with education and practical experience in both group fitness, active rehabilitation instruction, and personal training.
The preferred candidate will possess some or a combination of Standard First Aid, CPR-C and AED, certifications equivalent to BCRPA Registered Personal Training and/or registration with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK), A Degree or Diploma in Recreation or related field. BASc in Kinesiology would be considered an asset. Strong knowledge of RecStaff, ActiveNet, and Microsoft applications; and a background in group fitness, active rehab, and personal training would be preferred.
The successful candidate will have a valid BC driver's license and will be required to supply an acceptable police information check and copies of their credentials.

This position has a pay structure with five steps which increases based on hours worked.
