Position Summary
The Faculty of Social Work is inviting applications for 2 Assistant Professor positions for the Bilingual Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program - English and French (2-year term with a possibility of renewal).
The Faculty of Social Work is located within the University of Regina with a satellite campus in Saskatoon. One Assistant Professor will be based in Regina and one in Saskatoon.

The Faculty's Mission Statement reads:
The social work program of education, research and community service is designed to prepare students for critical generalist social work practice with diverse peoples. Informed by the principles of Indigenization, sustainability and social justice, the social work program encourages students to identify the needs of the disadvantaged, marginalized, and oppressed. It supports students in developing the commitment, knowledge, values, attitudes, and skills required to confront structural inequalities, and to empower individuals, families, and communities to realize their full potential.
Applications are also welcome from individuals with experience in the many diverse areas of social work practice - including but not limited to - direct social work practice with individuals, families, groups or communities; clinical social work; social policy; human rights; health; gender; aging; settlement and immigration; and Indigenous and decolonizing practices. Applicants are expected to have knowledge of francophone minority communities in Canada, including francophone immigrant and newcomer communities. The successful candidates' duties will include teaching at the BSW level in both English and French, conducting research, supervising graduate students, and contributing to the administrative structure of the Faculty of Social Work. Successful applicants will be required to teach using a range of instructional modalities, including hybrid and other flexible delivery formats.

Le programme d'enseignement, de recherche et de service communautaire en travail social est concu pour preparer les etudiants a une pratique critique et generaliste du travail social aupres de populations diverses. Inspire par les principes d'autochtonisation , de durabilite et de justice sociale, le programme de travail social encourage les etudiants a identifier les besoins des personnes defavorisees, marginalisees et opprimees. Il aide les etudiants a developper l'engagement, les connaissances, les valeurs, les attitudes et les competences necessaires pour lutter contre les inegalites structurelles et donner aux individus, aux familles et aux communautes les moyens de realiser leur plein potentiel.
Les candidatures de personnes ayant de l'experience dans les nombreux domaines de la pratique du travail social sont egalement les bienvenues, notamment, mais sans s'y limiter, la pratique directe du travail social aupres d'individus, de familles, de groupes ou de communautes ; le travail social clinique ; la politique sociale ; les droits de la personne ; la sante ; le genre ; le vieillissement ; l'etablissement et l'immigration ; et les pratiques autochtones et de decolonisation. Les candidat.es doivent avoir une connaissance des communautes francophones minoritaires au Canada, y compris les communautes francophones d'immigrants et de nouveaux arrivants. Les taches des candidat.es retenu.es comprendront l'enseignement en anglais et en francais au niveau du baccalaureat en travail social, la recherche, la direction de theses d'etudiants de cycles superieurs et la contribution a la structure administrative de la Faculte de travail social. Les candidat.es retenu.es devront enseigner en e servant de diverses modalites pedagogiques, y compris des formats hybrides et d'autres formats flexibles.

Position Requirements
A PhD in social work is preferred, with a record of research and teaching in the areas of social work practice, education, or policy. However, other candidates may be considered, including all but dissertation (ABD) candidates and those with a PhD in a related area if the candidate has a BSW or MSW. The salary will be commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and experience.
