As part of the Inclusive Excellence Cluster Hiring Initiative, the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary invites applications for a tenure-track position in Finance (FNCE) at the rank of Assistant Professor (Teaching). This position is only open to qualified persons with disabilities, as defined below. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2023, or at a mutually acceptable date.

An awareness of how to apply scholarly approaches to teaching and learning practices, participation in reflective practice, and professional learning activities related to teaching and learning would be an asset. Duties include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, course coordination, as well as professional service for the Haskayne School of Business, the University, and the community. The successful candidate will engage in research and scholarship required to maintain currency in pedagogy and curriculum design as well as scholarly activities that strengthen and inform the knowledge base and expertise of an Assistant Professor (Teaching). Salary is competitive and will depend on qualifications, experience, as well as teaching record.
Qualifications, Skills and Achievements Required
The successful candidate at the Assistant Professor (Teaching) level must demonstrate evidence of teaching effectiveness in different programs (e.g., graduate and undergraduate), evidence that the applicant can participate in a wide array of teaching activities, teaching innovation, and evidence of an exemplary record of service. Previous experience of coordinating courses would be considered an asset. The duties of an Assistant Professor (Teaching) also include staying up to date with pedagogical approaches and content in the discipline, as well as contributions to the community of practice in teaching & learning both at the Haskayne School of Business and the University of Calgary. The successful candidate will engage in research and scholarship required to maintain currency in pedagogy and curriculum design as well as scholarly activities that strengthen and inform the knowledge base and expertise of an Assistant Professor (Teaching).
