The Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full time tenure-stream appointment in the area of pharmacoeconomics and/or Health Economics. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2024 or shortly thereafter. The successful applicant may be eligible to hold the F Norman Hughes Chair in Pharmacoeconomics.
The successful candidate must have completed a PhD in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related Health Sciences fields, Economics, Public Health, Health Research Methods, Data Sciences, Health Services, Health Policy, Health Management or a related area. Postdoctoral experience, or equivalent (e.g. government, regulatory body, health care organization or industry) is required, preferably in an area related to health systems economics.
We seek a candidate whose research compliments the in the area of health systems economics with experience or interest in pharmacy practice and services. For example, the candidate\'s research could focus on: the economic aspects of pharmacy practice, the value pharmacy brings to health care systems, economic cost and consequences, the economics of digital/virtual care as interventions.
The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level, and to establish an outstanding, competitive, externally funded research program. Candidates will be expected to contribute to the education and training of undergraduate students in our PharmD professional programs and graduate students in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence which can be demonstrated by a record of publications in top ranked and field relevant journals or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing.
Evidence of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels is demonstrated through a teaching statement and teaching dossier. Evidence of excellence in teaching may be demonstrated through sample course syllabi (either of courses delivered by the candidate or planned for the future), course evaluations, or other evidence of superior performance in teaching related activities submitted as part of the application. Other teaching-related activities can include performance as a teaching assistant or course instructor, experience leading successful workshops or seminars, student mentorship, or excellent conference presentations or posters. Professional or lived experiences that enhance the ability to teach a diverse student body are highly valued.
