In this research position, candidates will maintain an active research agenda while teaching five sections per academic year. We focus on developing a good relationship with our students and to this end our sections are generally less than 40 students. In the first year, the teaching load is reduced by one course. Research faculty receive start-up money for research activities. The candidate will teach economics courses from within the undergraduate and graduate courses offered on-campus in Kamloops, BC. This position spans course development and in-person, blended and hybrid course modalities. The candidate will also make a strong ongoing service contribution to the department, school, university and/or the broader community.About the Department of EconomicsThe Department of Economics is one of five departments in TRU Gaglardi. We are a supportive and collegial team, with thirteen full-time faculty members. The Department offers and contributes to a wide range of programs including:

  • A Major in Economics within the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree and the Bachelor of Arts degree as well as majors in specialty areas such as Mathematics and Economics and Economics and Political Studies.
  • Teaching and supervision within the Master in Environmental Economics and Management, Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Management, and Master of Business Administration .
  • A Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Economics
  • A minor in Economics and minors in specialty areas such as Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development and Economics and Math.

Fields related to public policy are preferred but all fields of microeconomics will be considered. A demonstrated strong potential for excellence in scholarly research and teaching is required. Applicants should normally have an earned doctorate in Economics. PhD candidates who are close to completion will also be considered. The position entails conducting research, teaching and service.Application Process
