 Location - This role is in-person at the Cross Cancer Institute. 
 Applications are invited for a Clinician-Scientist position in the Department of Radiation Oncology, Cross Cancer Institute (CCI), Alberta Health Services (AHS). The position will be cross-appointed to the Division of Radiation Oncology, Department of Oncology, University of Alberta. 
 The CCI is located within a five-minute walk from the U of A campus in Edmonton, Alberta and is the comprehensive cancer treatment and research facility serving the Edmonton and Northern Alberta region. The U of A's Department of Oncology is located primarily at the CCI and has eight academic Divisions: Experimental Oncology, Medical Oncology, Medical Physics, Palliative Medicine, Radiation Oncology, Radiation Therapy, Oncologic Imaging, and Surgical Oncology. The close proximity of academic and clinical divisions within a single cancer care institution provides unique opportunities for the development of collaborative and clinically relevant research projects between discovery-based scientists, medical physicists and clinicians. 
Responsibilities: 
 Applicants are invited to join a dynamic, interactive, and multi-disciplinary cancer research community actively engaged across the spectrum of cancer research-related activities from pre-clinical models to clinical trials. Applicants require a Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in a cancer-related field and must have demonstrated potential to develop an independent research program in a field related to radiation oncology. 
 The successful candidate will devote approximately 60% of their time to research and will be expected to obtain funding from provincial and national agencies. They will also be responsible for supervising graduate and undergraduate students. Some administrative duties to the Department, CCI and U of A are also expected.
 Laboratory and office space are available in the 40,000 square ft research wing of the CCI, with access to multi-user facilities, including confocal and live cell imaging, super-resolution microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, biobanking, small animal experimentation including animal holding and imaging facilities (small animal PET/CT, 9.4 T MRI, small-animal image-guided irradiation platform, bioluminescence imaging).
