Position Description:
The McGill University Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology, Division of Radiation Oncology in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is inviting applications for a full-time Contract Academic Staff Position at the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical) based at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH). This will be a Contract Academic Staff position and does not confer eligibility for tenure.

The Segal Cancer Centre is part of the Jewish General Hospital-one of McGill's major teaching hospitals affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Canada's internationally renowned McGill University, located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec.
Job Duties:
The successful candidate will be involved in the academic activities of the McGill University Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology, Division of Radiation Oncology, which is associated with the Segal Cancer Centre located at the Jewish General Hospital.
The incumbent will also be expected to provide clinical care in at least one or several tumor sites or areas of practice, with a specific concentration in the field of lower and upper Gastrointestinal malignancies. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include clinical, teaching, and/or research activities within the Division of Radiation Oncology located at the Jewish General Hospital.
The successful candidate is expected to be actively involved in relevant aspects of McGill's academic mission (e.g., teaching, supervision of clinical trainees and students, and involvement in academic and administrative committees).
McGill faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community. A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion is also expected.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Candidates must:Hold an MD degree (or equivalent) and must hold, or be eligible for, licensure in the province of Quebec;
Have completed postgraduate clinical training in Radiation Oncology;
Be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent);
A postgraduate degree (e.g., MSc or PhD) will be considered an asset;
Relevant expertise or training in Gastrointestinal malignancy will also be considered an asset;
Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary language skills to practice medicine in Quebec. Candidates should be able to interact in English and in French with patients, families, and health care professionals.
