Position Description
The McGill University Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is currently inviting applications for a full-time position as a member of the Contract Academic Staff at the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical). This will be a three-year, renewable appointment and does not confer eligibility for tenure.

Job Duties
The successful candidate will be involved in the academic activities of the McGill University Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences. They will be expected to demonstrate aptitude and interest in pursuing academic studies (clinical and/or basic research), and should also demonstrate interest in telehealth and aboriginal health. The incumbent will be called upon to take a leading role in future departmental projects such as telemedicine and advanced technical training techniques.
The successful candidate will also be expected to be actively involved in relevant aspects of McGill's academic mission (e.g., clinical duties, research, teaching, supervision of students and residents, and involvement in academic and administrative committees). The incumbent will be expected to develop an innovative independent research program to pursue scholarly activities, ideally externally funded. Clinical resources, allocation of operating time, and infrastructure support will be commensurate with needs.
