Position Description
The McGill University Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time Contract Academic Staff position as a Clinician-Teacher at the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical) based at Saint-Mary's Hospital Centre. This will be a Contract Academic Staff position and does not confer eligibility for tenure.

Job Duties
The successful candidate will be appointed to clinical practice in the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Saint-Mary's Hospital Centre.

As a Clinician-Teacher, your major non-clinical focus will be on teaching the next generation of physicians, including both didactic and clinical teaching.



Clinical responsibilities will include the following Gastroenterology clinical services:



Endoscopy Clinic, Consult Service, General Outpatient Clinic and cover evening and weekend on-call duties. The incumbent will be expected to assist the academic program in clinical innovation in the Division of Gastroenterology.



The successful candidate will also be expected to be actively involved in all aspects of McGill's academic mission (i.e., research, teaching, supervision of graduate students and residents, and involvement in academic and administrative committees).
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Candidates must:Hold an MD degree and must hold, or be eligible for, licensure in the province of Quebec; Have completed subspecialty training in Gastroenterology; Be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent); Be certified by the College des Medecins du Quebec*;
Have completed at least one additional year of clinical and /or research training; Have experience in conducting clinical studies and have strong leadership qualities; Have specific interest in Medical Education and Quality programs; Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary language skills to practice medicine in Quebec. Candidates should be able to interact in English and in French with patients, families and health care professionals.
