Position Overview



Department: Procurement (Finance & Administration)

Location: North Vancouver, full time, in office

Employment type: Permanent

Job Grade: 7

Reports to: Procurement Manager

Schedule: Mondays to Fridays, 8 hours per day, 5on2off

Overtime eligibility: Overtime exempt

Responsibilities



Develop and execute complex sourcing strategies, including conducting RFx, and other procurement processes to identify and evaluate potential suppliers. Identify, assess risks throughout the full procurement cycle, and provide risk management and/or mitigation strategies via engagement with stakeholders. Contribute to contract strategy development, support commercial negotiations and engage with key stakeholders to ensure consistency with contractual terms and conditions. Collaborate in carrying out materials management strategies that are aligned with departmental and corporate strategies. Develop and implement realistic KPI metrics to monitor and improve supply chain and materials management performance. Assist with sourcing, negotiating, and finalizing procurement of capital fleet and major equipment, ensuring value optimization. Contribute to procurement departmental budget planning, reporting, and expenditure control initiatives. Ad hoc projects as required.

Skills



Strong skills in creatively structuring commercial solicitations to meet internal requirements. Background in capital project procurement including sourcing and acquisition of major equipment. Demonstrated capability in contract administration, commercial strategy development and negotiation management. Experience in materials management and inventory control practices. Exposure to fleet management best practices. Excellent understanding of procurement processes and corporate governance principles. Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. Able to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment and set priorities successfully. Proven leadership qualities and team focused.

Education



Supply Chain Management / Materials Management designation supplemented with a diploma in Business, Engineering, Finance or a combination of equivalencies.

Experience



10+ years in progressively responsible procurement and materials management roles within a heavy industrial setting.
