  • Assist with the development and execution of Orientation, the undergraduate student mentorship program, Welcome Squad and related activities and events designed to effectively transition new and first-year students to university life
  • Assist with recruitment, training and scheduling of Orientation and Welcome Day volunteers, student leaders and team captains
  • Develop promotional materials and communication assets, such as digital graphics, wayfinding signage, t-shirts for volunteers, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Universitys administrative and academic departments, Student Union and student group leaders on Orientation and welcome programs
  • Assist with outreach for Orientation donations, sponsorships, vendors and partners in support of achieving the departments revenue targets.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and reporting that measures the success of Orientation and mentorship program delivery against their objectives
  • Support Manager, Student Communications & Campus Community in other related duties that contribute to the successful operation of Student Affairs
Qualifications:
  • University degree and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience in a related field
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience (full-time or combination of part-time/volunteer) in program planning and administration, event support, or post-secondary student life programming
Required skills:
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in communications design (creating promotional assets, social media or marketing content)
  • Strong digital skills working within the Office 365 environment
  • Familiarity with accessibility in information and communication standards
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity and diversity, and proven ability to deal effectively with a diverse population
Mode of Work: Hybrid Model. This position requires working on campus to deliver programming. Some hybrid flexibility is available, based on programming requirements and in collaboration with the supervisor.Compensation: $21.16 per hourHours of Work: Monday to Friday, for a total of 35 hours per week.
