We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager/Supervisor to support the daily operations of our retail store. This role involves supervising staff, managing customer interactions, and ensuring the store meets its sales and service goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management practices. Bilingual proficiency and prior supervisory experience are highly valued to effectively lead diverse teams and serve our varied customer base.
Responsibilities
Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, merchandising, and customer service.
Supervise and motivate team members to achieve sales targets while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.
Manage payroll processing, scheduling, and training & development initiatives for staff.
Oversee merchandising displays, pricing strategies, and inventory purchasing to optimize sales performance.
Handle cash handling procedures, POS transactions, and bookkeeping tasks accurately.
Support recruiting efforts by interviewing candidates and participating in onboarding processes.
Monitor store performance metrics and prepare reports to inform management decisions.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and operational procedures.
Develop marketing strategies to promote store offerings and enhance customer engagement.
Foster a positive team environment through effective communication, conflict resolution, and leadership.
Requirements
Proven supervising or team management experience in retail or related environments.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred.
Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills.
Experience with merchandising, pricing strategies, purchasing, and sales management.
Ability to train staff effectively and develop their skills through coaching and feedback.
Knowledge of marketing techniques and customer service excellence standards.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and operational efficiency.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
